Play is the foundation of learning.

Play is an enjoyable activity that is done primarily for amusement and pleasure, not for a serious purpose. It is characterized by smiling, laughter, make-believe, high engagement, and creativity. Play involves problem solving, physical and social interactions, language and higher order thinking, and for this reason it is foundational for learning.
